11th JS forms six standing committees

The 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today formed six Parliamentary Standing Committees on various ministries.

With Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s approval, Chief whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury proposed the names of the committees and the members following the Rules of Procedure.

The JS with Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair, unanimously adopted the proposals by voice votes, reports BSS.

Parliamentary Standing Committees are on Railway Ministry, Labour and Employment Ministry, Information Ministry, Ministry of Home Affairs, Housing and Public Works Ministry and Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry.

ABM Fazley Karim Chowdhury was elected as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Railway. The other members of the committee are Asaduzzaman Noor, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Shafiqul Azam Khan, Saifuzzaman, HM Ibrahim, Nasimul Alam Chowdhury and Gazi Shahnewaz.

Chief Whip proposed Mujibul Haq as the Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Labour and Employment while other members are Shahjahan Khan, Qamrul Islam, Shamim Osman, Israfil Alam, Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Manu Majumder and Iqbal Hossen.

Hasanul Haq Inu was elected as the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Information Ministry while the other members are Golam Mohammad Kader, Kazi Keramat Ali, Begum Simin Hossen Rimi, Shafiqur Rahman, Saimun Sarwar Kamol, Akbar Hossen Pathan Faruque and Ibadul Karim.

M Shamsul Haq Tuku was elected as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Home Affairs. Members of the committee are – Afsarul Amin, Habibur Rahman, Shamsul Alam Dudu, Kuzendra Lal Tripura, Faridul Haq Khan, Pir Fazlur Rahman and Nur Mohammad.

The Jatiya Sangsad elected Engineer Mosharraf Hossen as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Housing and Public Works while the other members of the committee are –Narayan Chandra Chanda, Alhaz Dabirul Islam, Bazlul Haq Haroon, Zillul Hakim, AKM Selim Osman, Monwar Hossen Chowdhury and Anwarul Ashraf Khan.

Anisul Islam Mahmud will head of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment while other members of the committee are Professor Ali Ashraf, Moazzem Hossen Ratan, Mrinal Kanti Das, Didarul Alam, Begum Ayesha Ferdous, Pankaj nath, Sadeque Khan and Iqbal Hossen.

A total of 23 parliamentary standing committee so far has been formed in the last four sitting of the Jatiya Sangsad.
