Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has submitted a report to the High Court saying that 33 percent buses plying across the country have no fitness certificate.
Lawyer Md Rafiul Islam on behalf of BRTA placed the report before the bench of Justice Moyenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Md Ashraful Kamal on Thursday.
The 150-pages report also said that 56 percent buses have no speed regulatory certificate.
Lawyer Md Tanvir Ahmed, who was the writ petitioner, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
The report was made after surveying the transport plying in different areas including Dhaka, Mawa, Gazipur and Narayanganj.
Earlier on July 31 last year, the High Court directed the BRTA to submit within three months a report on the transport across the country.
