Dhaka Dynamites bundled out defending champions Rangpur Riders for 142 runs in the second qualifier of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the home of cricket in Mirpur on Wednesday.
Batting first, opener Nadif Chowdhury, who made his first appearance in this season’s BPL, played aggressively right from the start, scoring a 12-ball 27 runs thanks to two fours and three over-boundaries.
On the other side, the Caribbean master blaster Chris Gayle was struggling as he could manage 15 of 13 balls with two maximum before being out by pacer Rubel Hossain.
The right-arm quicker also picked left-hander Rossouw up for a golden duck in the next delivery.
Ravi Bopara and Mithun added 64 runs in the fourth wicket partnership. Mithun scored a 27-ball 38 runs while Bopara was departed a single run away from his fifty.
Rubel Hossain bagged four wickets for 23 runs in his quota of four overs while Kazi Anik and Russell took two wickets apiece for the Riders.
