26 detained on Pautkhali border

Twenty six Bangladesh nationals have been detained by Border Guard Bangladesh while they were entering the country through Putkhali frontier of Benapole early Sunday, after intruding into India illegally.Confirming the matter, BGB Battalion-21 camp commander Subedar Shamsur Rahman said the arrestees hailed from different areas of Jessore, Narail and Kushtia district.He said on information, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area in the early morning and arrested 14 women, five children and seven men while they were trying to enter Bangladesh territory during their return from India without any valid documents.Sensing the presence of BGB, human traffickers managed to flee away. Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port police station.
