4 killed as truck falls into Turag river

Four people were killed as a brick-laden truck fell into the Turag river at Moragang area in Ashulia on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased were identified as truck driver Muzahid, 25, brick kiln workers Shahin, 35, both hailing from Sherpur, Arif, 26 of Sirajganj and security guard Abdul Quader, 40 of Jamalpur. 

Riajaul Haque Dipu, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said the brick-laden truck fell 40 feet into the Turag river after losing its control while overtaking a bus.

Shafiqul Islam, Senior Officer of Uttara fire service, said on information we rushed to the spot and rescued four dead bodies and the truck from the river.
