JaSoD leader killed in India elephant attack

A central leader of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) was killed in a wild elephant attack in India on Friday afternoon.   

The deceased was identified as Syed Saimun Kanak, Mass Media Affairs Secretary of JaSoD central committee, son of JaSod central committee’s former executive president late Nur Alam Jiku.

Kanak lived in ancestral house adjacent to Nawabbari in Sadarghat-Waijghat area of Old Dhaka.

Golam Mohsin, Kushtia district JaSoD President, confirmed the death to Jago News on Saturday.  

Quoting Kanak’s wife Mala, Kushtia district JaSoD Secretary Joydeb Biswas said the post-mortem of the body was expected to be held today’s morning. After ending the autopsy, the body will be taken to Dhaka on airplane and buried in Dhaka.

According to source, Kanak was killed in a wild elephant attack while traveling the Dooars area in Darjeeling district of India’s West Bengal State on Friday afternoon. He along with his wife and friends left Dhaka for Darjeeling a week ago.
