Seven people including six of a family were killed as a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Laxmipur early Wednesday.
The incident took place on Dhaka-Raipura regional road at Mandareer Jadoia area in the district.
The deceased were identified as Shah Alam, Nachima Akter, Rokeya Begum, Shamchun Nahar, Rubel, Amit and auto-rickshaw driver Nuru, hailing from Noakhali.
Md. Shahjahan, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Relatives of the deceased said, the accident took place when they were going to Laxmipur sadar hospital to visit their family member who was injured by the local terrorists. At that time, six of them and driver of the auto-rickshaw were killed on the spot.
