Awami League (AL) has begun to sell nomination forms for aspirants to its 43 reserved seats (women) in the 11th Jatiya Sangsad.
The party’s general secretary and also the road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the selling programme at AL president’s Dhanmondi political office in the city on Tuesday at 10am.
The price of nomination form is Tk 30,000.
Dhaka South Mahila Awami League leader Nurgis Rahman bought the first nomination form.
Among others, AL joint secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, organizing secretary and also water resources deputy minister Enamul Haque Shamim, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap and deputy office secretary Biplob Barua were present during this time.
According to the 11th parliamentary polls’ results, 43 seats will be reserved for Awami League while four for the Jatiya Party, one for Jatiya Oikyafront and two for the independent and other candidates.
The Jatiya Party has already finalized four nominees to be elected to reserved women seats in the 11th parliament, said a JP source earlier.
JP Chairman HM Ershad approved the nominations also. The four nominees are Parveen Osman (Narayanganj), Dr Shaheena Akhter (Kurigram), Najma Akhter (Feni) and Monika Alam (Jhenidah).
