Most garment workers have joined their work as the government on Monday announced the revised wage structure following the movement of the workers.
The workers were seen to join their respective workplaces at the Ashulia industrial area in Dhaka on Monday morning.
However, the workers came out of some factories due to unknown reason.
Confirming the matter, Industrial Police Dhaka-1 (Ashulia) director Sana Samiur Rahman said the workers have joined their workplaces. The production are normal in all factories except one or two factories. Additional police were deployed in the area to control untoward situation.
Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Labour and Employment Secretary Afroza Khan announced the new wage structure following the meeting at the ministry.
She said grade 1 employees will get Taka 18,257, Taka 15,416 for grade 2, Taka 9,845 for grade 3, Taka 9,347 for grade 4, and Taka 8,875 for grade 5, Taka 8820 for grade 6 but Taka 8000 for grade 7 was kept intact under the revised wage structure, according to BSS.
