AL council to be held in October: Quader

The ruling Awami League is going to be held its 21st council this October, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader.

He came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after inspecting the activities of BRTA’s mobile court in the capital’s Manik Mia Avenue on Saturday.

Referring to several media reports on Awami League National Council, he said: “There are no possibilities to hold the party’s national council before October.”

“Democratic countries gave their full support to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. So, there is no need for holding any such dialogue. It’s ridiculous,” Quader said.

The 20th council of Awami League was held on October 22 and 23, 2016 where Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader were elected as president and general secretary respectively.
