Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader today warned of strict actions if any political party tries to carry out subversive activities saying if political movement is waged by any party it will be tackled politically.
“Nobody believes that the political party defeated in the parliamentary election on December 30, 2018 has the capacity to wage any political movement…..If they go through legal procedures to wage movement we will handle it politically,” said Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, reports BSS.
He said in reply to a query during a stopover at Shimulia Feri Ghat on the way to the shrine of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara, Gopalganj with members of new cabinet led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Talking about violence and sabotage carried out by BNP-Jamaat alliance, he said if those untoward situations occur, befitting reply will be given to them.
Meanwhile, massive measures were taken in the Ghat area for the Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina and her new council of ministers.
The local leaders accorded a reception to the premier as well as the ministers when they arrived at Shimulia Feri Ghat.
Deputy Commissioner of the district Saila Farzana, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zayedul Alam, AL Acting President of Lohajang Upazila Alhaj Osman Gani Talukder and General Secretary Abdul Rashid Sikder, among others, accompanied the new cabinet members in the Ghat area.
