Language movement hero Hannan dies

Language movement hero and eminent educationist Syed Abdul Hannan has died.

He breathed his last at Dhaka’s City Hospital early Tuesday. 

He left behind his wife, two sons and three daughters to mourn his death.

He will be buried at his family graveyard in Sherpur after namaz-e-janaza to be held at 4:30pm.

Member of the parliament Atiur Rahman Atik (Sherpur-1 constituency),  Zila Parishad chairman Humayun Kabir Ruman, municipality mayor Golam Mohammad Liton, sadar upazila chairman Sanwar Hossain Sanu expressed their deep shock at the death of Hannan. 

Hannan was born in Sherpur on December 25, 1932. He involved with the language movement when he was the first year student of the Dhaka University in 1952.
