Six new Indian visa centres to be opened soon

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka today announced that six new Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) will be opened in Bangladesh soon.

Two visa centres will be introduced in Thakurgaon and Bogura on January 6 while four centres in Cumilla, Noakhali, Brahmanbaria and Satkhira on January 12 this year, a press release said.

The new IVACs are being opened to further serve the needs and facilitate the access of Indian visas to Bangladeshi nationals residing in far-flung and remote areas.

At present, there are nine fully functional IVACs in different parts of Bangladesh and these six new IVACs will increase the total number of visa centres to 15.

The opening of more Indian Visa Application Centres across Bangladesh and the provision of amenities reflect the continuing efforts of the High Commission of India in collaboration with the State Bank of India to further streamline the Indian visa application process and strengthen people-to-people contacts between India and Bangladesh.
