Salman Khan turns 53

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has turned a year older today. The Bhaijaan of Bollywood who is currently riding high as the super cool host of Bigg Boss 12, is all set to wow his fans with his upcoming film Bharat, which is all set to release on Eid 2019. 

Last seen in the big screens in Race 3,  Salman Khan is undoubtedly the king of box-office and, especially his Eid releases are something that the audiences always looks forward to. His connection with Eid release all started with the 2009 film Wanted and, rest is all history.

On the special occasion of Salman Khan's birthday, a look at his blockbuster Eid offerings that not only smashed box-office records but also won hearts of the audience.

Wanted (2009)This Prabhu Deva-directed action flick was the remake of Telugu hit Pokiri, starring Mahesh Babu. Playing a cop who goes undercover as a gangster, Salman tasted super success at the BO with this film after a prolonged lean spell.

Dabangg (2010)Chulbul Pandey avatar of Salman Khan is one of his most loved roles. This production by Arbaaz Khan, which had Sonakshi Sinha, Mahesh Majrekar and Sonu Sood minted Rs 14.50 crore on its opening day. Its lifetime business in the theatres was of Rs 138.88 crore.

Bodyguard (2011)This romantic drama starring Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan in lead pair was packed with Salman's stunts. Directed by Siddique, it was a remake of Malayalam film and starred actors like Raj Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Hazel Keech. The movie became highest opening day grosser with Rs 21.60 crore. It earned Rs 148.86 during its runtime in theatres.

Ek Tha Tiger (2012)This spy thriller directed by Kabir Khan had Salman playing the role of a RAW agent. Katrina Kaifessayed the role of an ISI agent in the movie. It opened on an impressive collection of Rs 32.93 crore and minted Rs 198.78 crore at the box office.

Kick (2014)Kick, which was a remake of 2009 Telugu movie of the same name minted Rs 26.40 crore on its first day. Its total domestic collection stands at Rs 231.85 crore. The movie starred Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)Bajrangi Bhaijaan became Salman's first film to hit a triple century with its heart-warming story and subtle acting. This Kabir Khan directorial presented Salman in an unseen avatar. His innocent act as Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi left his fans amazed. It collected Rs 27.25 crore on its opening day and earned Rs 320.32 during its runtime in theatres.

Sultan (2016)This Ali Abbas Zafar film set the box office on fire by minting Rs 36.54 on its first day. Sultan smashed all box office records and became the first movie to gross Rs 345 crore worldwide on its opening weekend. The film also boasted of highest advance booking ever and the biggest pre-Eid opening day box office as per reports.
