The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has asked the judicial magistrates to carry out the electoral duties rising above all political parties and people.
The CEC said this while addressing at a workshop of judicial magistrates held at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon on Monday.
“The election commission wants a credible elections and don’t want panic. The electoral duties must be done using the intellect and wisdom,” CEC said.
CEC said: “You will observe your duty as per constitution and law. You are independent and impartial so that you will apply your judge’s mind.”
A total of 215 judicial magistrates took part at the first day of three day long workshop.
Election Commissioners Md. Rafiqul Islam, Begum Kabita Khanam, Brigadier General (rdt) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury and EC Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed were present in the workshop.
As per the revised election schedule, the 11th parliamentary election will be held on December 30.
