A clash has been ensued between two factions of Tabligh Jamaat at the airport area in the capital following a pre-meeting of Biswas Ijtema.
The transport movement was suspended as the supporters of both factions took to the both sides of the street on Saturday morning.
Prabir Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic (Uttara zone), said: “Two factions of Tabligh Jamaat took to the street of Ashkona early in the morning. Besides another group also took to the street of Uttara’s Abdullahpur. The transport movement was suspended when a clash was ensued between two factions at Ashkona.”
Julfiker Juwel, Assistant Commissioner of DMP’s Uttara zone, said: “We are trying to easy the traffic movement.”
