Participatory election atmosphere created: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said a competitive and participatory election atmosphere has been created in the country.

“We hoped for a competitive election that is fulfilled,” CEC said this while addressing at an inaugural ceremony of government officials’ training  programme ahead of national polls at the EC Bhaban on Thursday.

CEC said, “All of the candidates submitted their nomination forms to returning officers peacefully without breaking the election code of conduct rules on Tuesday.”

“We have to believe utterly that the people, who do politics, should obey the election rules and such type of the atmosphere is created,” CEC added.

CEC further said, “A total of 3,056 nomination forms have been submitted for 300 constituencies across the country. It’s a record.”

Election Commission Secretary Helaludin addressed at the programme and gave different directions while around 400 government officials took part.
