Newly appointed US ambassador-designate Earl R Miller has arrived in Dhaka.
Miller was confirmed as the US Ambassador to Bangladesh by the US Senate on October 11, 2018, said a media release of the US Embassy in Dhaka today.
Before his nomination as the US Ambassador-designate to Bangladesh, Miller served as the ambassador to the Republic of Botswana from 2014 to 2018.
Miller, a career member of the US Senior Foreign Service, joined the Department of State in 1987. Previously, he served as the Consul General at the US Consulate General in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2011 to 2014.
Miller also worked in Washington, San Francisco, Miami and Boston and at the US embassies in El Salvador, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and India.
