The severe cyclone ‘Gaja’ over southwest Bay and adjoining area moved west southwestwards further and crossed Tamil Nadu coast of India (near Nagapattnam) by 3am last night, said a met office special weather bulletin here today.
It is likely to move west-southwesterly direction further and weakened gradually, BSS reported.
Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower signal. All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to proceed with caution till evening today, the bulletin added.
