The meeting between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Jatiya Party chief Hussain Muhammad Ershad held at Gono Babhan, the former’s official residence, on Monday.
The meeting began at 7:20 as part of the PM’s series meeting with the political alliance.
Ershad, the special envoy of PM, is leading 33-member delegation of Sammilita Jatiya Jote, a Jatiya Party led political alliance.
Prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday night invited Jatiya Party to join the talks.
Earlier, Ershad sent a letter to Sheikh Hasina seeking dialogue with her party over the upcoming general election.
