BNP leader Tariqul Islam dies

Former minister and BNP Standing Committee Member Tariqul Islam has passed away. He was 73.

He breathed his last at 5pm on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals in the capital.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed his deep shock at the death of Tariqul Islam. 

BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed the death to Jago News. 

Tariqul was suffering from kidney and diabetic diseases alongside the old-age complications.

He served as the Minister of Information in the Second Khaleda Cabinet. He also served as the Minister of Forest and the Environment.
