My relationship with Jasleen is not physical but spiritual: Anup

Anup Jalota and Jasleen Matharu were definitely the most ‘vichitra’ jodi of Bigg Boss 12. The pair has now been separated as Anup was evicted by host Salman Khan on Sunday night. Along with him, Saba Khan also walked out of the show, reports The Indian Express.

Hours after his exit, Anup spoke to indianexpress.com about his Bigg Boss 12 experience, his pick as the winner and his relationship with Jasleen.

“It was a mind-blowing experience. It also helped me improve my health. I don’t remember when was the last time I had slept for eight hours. In the six weeks that I was in the house, I slept and ate well, got to workout and have also lost four kilos. I think if I would have stayed there for a longer period, I would have replaced Salman Khan as the host,” he said with a laugh.

Wild card entrant and Bigg Boss Marathi winner Megha Dhade played a pivotal role in Anup Jalota’s nomination. Sharing that she regretted putting him in danger, the 65-year-old said, “She was feeling sad about it and even apologised to me. She told me that initially she couldn’t understand me compared to others. And it’s ironical that Megha nominated me for being self-conscious. A person who has a good will and reputation would obviously not want to destroy it over petty fights on a reality show.”

There has been a buzz on social media that the singer’s contract was for a specific time period. It was said that he had to fly off for his upcoming concerts. Refuting the reports, Anup said, “You are most welcome to have dinner with me for the next 10 days in my house. I am not going anywhere. I have the same contract like everyone for 105 days. So all these news are completely baseless.”

The Bhajan maestro played a clean game and when asked if that’s the reason he was shown the door, he said, “Not really. If that was the case, I would have not managed to stay for so long in the show. I think Bigg Boss has a place for everyone. But then yes, people enjoy watching contestants who indulge in ghatia (cheap) tactics for entertainment.”

Anup Jalota also had some strong words for Surbhi Rana and Sreesanth who according to him are unpredictable. “Surbhi and Sree should be locked in the outhouse. They would be able to calm each other down. While Surbhi’s action of putting a tikka of blood was scary, Sree’s move of getting back as friends with Dipika Kakar spoiled my game. When we had returned from the secret room, we had decided to play the game smartly. But his move somehow spoilt my plans,” he said.

As for the ones playing the game intelligently, the devotional singer said, “Romil is a very smart man. He is a lawyer and he reads between the lines. But I don’t know if he will win or not. Also, the new entrants are quite entertaining. Megha seems to have a doctorate on the show. But when you board a train mid-way, there are less chances you will win the show.”

“On the other hand, Surbhi, Dipika and even Deepak are playing a dirty game. They are not trust worthy and can change the game anytime,” he shared.

As the conversation steered towards his lady love Jasleen Matharu, Anup Jalota clarified that it’s not love between them. He said, “Ours is a very pure and musical relationship. And I think it’s above love. My relationship with Jasleen is not physical but spiritual. Outside the show, we have been to each other’s house only a couple of times. During our stay, we got to talk and spend time together. And I can confidently say, our bond has become stronger. I hope it continues to be so forever.”
