Kamal leads rehabilitation centre for killers, terrorists: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said Dr Kamal Hossain is leading a rehabilitation centre for terrorists and killers of BNP and its allies in the name of Jatiya Oikyafront, BSS reported.

“Under the leadership of Dr Kamal Hossain, the rehabilitation centre involving several parties is not actually Oikyafront, rather it is a rehabilitation centre for the killers and the terrorists of BNP and its allies,” he told a rally marking the AL’s mass contact programme ahead of the parliamentary election at Savar Bazar bus stand.

AL Savar Pourasava unit organized the programme with its president Haji Abdul Gani in the chair.

AL Joint General Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, Organizing Secretary Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Noufel and AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, local lawmaker Dr Enamur Rahman, MA Malek, MP, Dhaka district AL President Benjir Ahmed and General Secretary Mahbubur Rahman were present on the occasion, among others.

Quader said Dr Kamal Hossain earlier used to say that ill politics was destroying the country but now he has formed Oikyafront as a new leader of the ill politics.

The minister said BNP has now turned into a party of killers and terrorists and the party now cannot do anything other than making complaints as it has no acceptance to the people.

Quader said BNP was the mastermind of August 21 grenade attack on AL rally in 2004. Now the people have no trust in BNP, he added.

Highlighting different development initiatives of the incumbent government, he said around 15 crore people, among the total 16 crore, are using mobile phones while 10 crore people are internet users in the country.

He said the government is providing free textbooks among students across the country on the very first day of New Year while allowances for elderly people, freedom fighters and the disabled are being given for the betterment of the people.

The minister said there is no alternative to electing Awami League in the next general election to continue the current trend of development.

The AL general secretary said the Awami League leaders and workers who enjoy the maximum people’s support and acceptance would get the party tickets to vie in the general election.

Party leaders and workers will have to work with unity for those who will get the AL tickets for contesting in the election, he added.

He said organizational steps will be taken if anyone violates the party commands.

Earlier, hundreds of leaders and workers started gathering at the venue with banners, festoons and drums.
