Nomination to be given reviewing activities of leaders: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said party nominations for the next parliament polls will be given reviewing the activities of the aspirants, reports BSS.

“Don’t create divisions in the party. Don’t build another house within the house… The nominations will be finalized considering the lists of activities of party leaders which are now available with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said, speaking at a workers meeting at Shaheed Khushi Railway ground here.

Awami League district unit organized the meeting with its President Zillul Hakim, MP, in the chair.

Quader said the next parliamentary election is very near. “Please work in favour of the party candidates. No one can get party nomination by publishing banners or festoons. Party chief Sheikh Hasina will give nomination to those who have popularity among the mass people of their respective constituency,” he added.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the government would not give any permission to hold public rally on the city streets. “We also don’t hold any rally on the streets. Law enforcement agencies will take necessary steps if anyone tries to create anarchy in the city streets,” he added.

State Minister for Technical and Madrasa Education Kazi Keramat Ali, AL Organizing Secretary Mahibul Chowdhury Nowfel and Zilla Parishad Chairman Fakir Abdul Jabbar, among others, spoke in the meeting.

Earlier, Obaidul Quader inaugurated the construction works of the road from Taltola to Shialdangi.
