Stocks on Wednesday witnessed flat with falling trend of most of the major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at the DSE increased to Tk 514.51 crore from Tuesday’s Tk 487.97 crore and the daily trade also rose to 12.76 crore share from 11.13 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of the DSE closed the day with 3.96 points up at 5,390.85. The blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 6.20 point up at 1,897.89. But, the Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.84 points down at 1,240.26.
At the DSE, prices of 171 securities out of the day’s 336 closed higher against 131 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were KDSALTD, Nitol Insurance, Pioneer Insurance, BNICL and Phenix Insurance. The major losing issues were Central PHL, MHSML, Jute Spinning, Shasha Denims and IBNSINA.
KPCL topped the turnover list followed by Ifad Autos, Shasha Denims, Republic and Active Fine.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 23.45 points down at 16,557.64.
At the CSE, 235 issues traded while 105 closed higher against 106 closed lower when 1.11 crore shares worth Tk 91.17 crore changed hands.
