Bangladesh win toss, elected to bat against Afghanistan

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has won the toss and decided to bat first in their crucial super four match of the ACC Asia Cup in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Sunday.

Both Bangladesh and Afghanistan will play their second match in the Super Four after registering a loss in their previous matches.

Afghanistan will aim to beat a troubled Bangladesh side for the second time in the tournament.

Bangladesh lost their last encounter against India while Afghanistan suffered a defeat to Pakistan. Concerned over the injury and the poor form of top-order batsmen, Bangladesh on Friday recalled the experienced Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes to bolster their squad for the ongoing Asia Cup.

Squads:

Bangladesh XI: Liton Das, Nazmul Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mahmudullah, Imrul Kayes, Mahsrafe Mortaza (capt.), Mehidy Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Nazmul Islam

Afghanistan XI: Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Ihsanullah, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Samiullah Shenwari, Asghar Afghan (capt.), Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Aftab Alam, Mujeeb Ur Rahman
