Govt won’t bow down to any pressure: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Friday said the government would not bow down to any pressure, reports BSS.

“Some people can put pressure on us. But we will not bow down to any other’s pressure,” he said while addressing a function marking the 10th anniversary of Anwar Khan Modern Medical College at Dhanmondi here.

He said few leaders of BNP went to the United Nations to lodge complains against the government after the party failed to wage all sorts of movement.

The minister said BNP has signed treaties with two institutions of Washington for lobbying in exchange of $20,000 initially and $35,000 every month to put pressure on Bangladesh government.

“BNP gets the money from where,” he questioned. Quader said: “I want to say it clearly that we have very strong people’s support. Our root is very deep in the soil of Bangladesh.”  He said if the country has any problem, it’s people will solve it.
