56 entrepreneurs to get CIP cards Thursday

The government will award 56 entrepreneurs with commercially important person (CIP) (Industry) cards for their outstanding performances in respective fields in 2016, BSS reported.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu will hand over the CIP cards among the awardees at a function to be held at Sonargaon Hotel in the capital tomorrow.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Industries Ministry Omar Faruk Chowdhury and President of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) M Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) will be present at the function.

Out of the 56 entrepreneurs, 48 will receive the status for their outstanding performances in five categories while eight will get the status under the ex-officio category.

Among the 48 businessmen, 25 will receive CIP cards for large industries while 15 for medium industries, one for micro industry and one for cottage industry.
