Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at some places across the country in the next 24 hours ending 9 am tomorrow, reports BSS.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions, at a few places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today,” said a Met bulletin issued this morning.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
“The low over Northwest Bay and adjoining area intensified into a well- marked low and now lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Odisha coast… The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the centre of the well-marked low and thence northeastwards to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh,” the bulletin said, adding that Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong elsewhere over North Bay.
The maximum temperature was recorded 35.2 degrees Celsius yesterday at Sayedpur in Rangpur division while today’s minimum temperature 25.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati in Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 29 mm at Nikli in Dhaka division.
