BNP seeks Khaleda’s release before Eid

BNP on Thursday demanded release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail before Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims, to be celebrated on 22 August.

“Illegal government is trying to stamp out opposition party through arbitrary abuse of law. We demand that the government will withdraw all false cases and release our leader before Eid,” BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said at a press conference at the party’s central office.

Demanding proper treatment for Khaleda, he said that we urge the government to take action for ensuring proper treatment for our party chairperson. 

He said: “Khaleda Zia is being deprived of justice by the government. She is kept away from all kinds of rights.”

Among others, BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon, training affairs secretary AbM mosharraf hossain, assistant organizing secretary Abdus Salam Azad, assistant office secretary Munir Hossen, assistant publication secretary Asadul Karim Shaheen and executive member Shamsuzzaman were attended the press conference.
