BNP plotting to foil next polls: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP has began hatching conspiracies to foil the next general election as they have failed to wage any movement against the government, BSS reported.

“I would like to say that the people of Bangladesh are united under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina…We will resist all types of conspiracies along with the people if anyone try to foil the next parliament polls,” he said, speaking at a preparatory meeting to observe National Mourning Day at Kabirhat Poura Hall here.

AL Kabirhat Upazila unit and municipality unit jointly organized the meeting.

AL district unit General Secretary Akramul Karim Chowdhury, MP, and Kabirhat Municipality Mayor Jahirul Haque Raihan, among others, were present in the meeting.

Later, Quader met with the local journalists at Akramul’s house.

During the meeting, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, ruled out any possibility of holding dialogue with BNP and said, “The election schedule will be declared within the next two months. No dialogue will be held.”

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manmmay Das, Police Super Md Ilias Sharif, Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate Shihab Uddin Shahin, Kabirhat Upazila Chairman Kamrunnahar Sheuly and Noakhali Municipality Mayor Shahid Ullha Khan Sohel, among others, were present on the occasion.
