Saudi Arabia on Friday announced that it has launched a website which is dedicated to news on this year’s Hajj season which will begin next week.
The website, hajjmedia.gov.sa, has been set up in both English and Arabic as a primary source for pilgrimage news, Culture and Information Minister Awwad Alawwad said.
According to Alawwad, the Kingdom expects to host more than 800 foreign journalists during the upcoming pilgrimage season.
He went on to point out that media centres had already been set up in the holy city of Mecca for the use of local and foreign journalists.
“With a view to raising the quality of live broadcasts and facilitating Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, we will provide several new services while also expanding the Kaaba and the Masjid Al-Nabawi [the mosque in Madinah],” Alawwad said.
