None to be spared responsible for road accident: Kamal

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said that those who were responsible for the road accident that killed two students in the city would not be spared.

“The government will take stern action against those who will be found guilty to this end,” he told newsmen after meeting with the ill-fated student Dia Khanam Meem’s family at her house in Mohakhali, BSS reported.

The minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the death of the students and instructed him to visit Meem’s house.

Kamal talked to Meem’s family members and expressed his deep shock at the death of Meem and said that the persons’ responsible for the accident would be brought to book.

Replying to a query, the minister said that the primary investigation confirmed that there was a mechanical fault of the bus, adding that it is being investigated whether the bus maintained route permit or its driver had valid license.

The law enforcement agencies, he said, have been instructed to ensure punishment to those who were responsible for the road accident.

Earlier, two students were killed in a road accident in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Sunday afternoon when a passengers bus ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’ crashed them and wounded 12 others.
