Writ seeks compensation for airport road crash victims

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking its directive on the owner of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan to give Tk 2 crore as compensation to the families of 2 school students who  were killed in city bus crash.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal on Monday filed the writ with the concerned department of the High Court as a public interest litigation.

Abdul Karim alias Rajib Uddin Rajib, 18, a student of class-XII, and Dia Khanam Mim, 17, an 11th grader of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College  were killed as the bus of the Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan ran over the two students on the Airport Road flyover adjacent to the Armed Forces Medical College in Dhaka’s Kurmitola area on Sunday.

Two bus-drivers and two supervisors have been arrested in connection with the accident.

Following the incident, the agitating people vandalized buses on the day.
