A charge sheet has been submitted to court against Foyzul Hasan, four members of his family and his accomplice in connection with the attack on noted writer and Professor Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.
The accused are attacker Foyzur Hasan, his father Atiqur Rahman, mother Minara Begum, brother Enamul Hasan, uncle Fozlur Rahman and Foyzul’s frined Sohag Miah. All six are in jail.
Shafiqul Islam, the investigation officer of the case and officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station, on Thursday filed the charges before Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Haridash Kumar.
He said Fayzul had planned to kill Prof Zafar Iqbal 3-4 months back and had been looking for chance to kill him.
Dr Zafar Iqbal, a teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), came under attack on March 3 when he was attending a programme at campus.
