Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor is being sued by the tenant of his apartment in Pune for allegedly failing to honour the terms of the rental agreement, according to a Pune Mirror report. Ranbir owns a house in Pune’s Trump Towers.
The resident Sheetal Surywanshi has sought damages and interest for being evicted much before the lock-in period stated in the agreement. The case has been filed in the Pune civil court and the tenant has demanded Rs 50.40 lakh as damages, the report said.
She claims that she was asked to vacate the house in August 2017, 11 months after she moved in. She moved out in October 2017 and said her family suffered ‘severe inconvenience and hardships’ due to the eviction.
Ranbir, in his reply as per the newspaper report, has denied all claims. The actor’s response states that the tenant vacated the flat on her own free will and also defaulted on rent for three months, which was deducted from the deposit. The case is scheduled to be heard next on August 28.
