Quota issue to be resolved soon: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said quota issue will be resolved soon, reports BSS.

“The Prime Minister does it what she said. I urge the students to keep trust in her. She is always positive. A committee has been formed in this regard,” he told a discussion, arranged by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), at TSC auditorium at Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday evening.

Highlighting the development activities of the government, Asaduzzaman said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing the dreams of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Our security forces uprooted militancy…the conspiracy to represent Bangladesh as a failed state was foiled,” he said.

Speaking at the discussion, National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Harun-or-Rashid said Sheikh Hasina was arrested by the army backed caretaker government in July 2007 with a view to detaching her from politics.

About quota reform issue, he said: “A conspiracy is going on to create chaos on the Dhaka University campus…but, students’ concern over quota issue is not abnormal.”
