Why Real Madrid will not miss Cristiano Ronaldo

The sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus for 105 million euros has been a shock for many of the faithful of the madrididsta parish, however, the club is about more than the Portuguese.

Yes, Real Madrid have allowed a player who has scored 451 goals in 438 games during his nine seasons to leave.

A striker who has also won four Ballon d'Or's and raised four Champions Leagues as well as two Leagues and two Copas del Rey during his time in the Spanish capital.

However, his leaving is not the end of the world for the European champions, and there are a series of events in recent years that show that this statement can be considered more than correct:

The goal is the king of football, that's clear, and for Cristiano, they were a priority.

Fifty per season have been consigned to the past, but we are talking about the centre-forward of Real Madrid, not only Cristiano Ronaldo.

Karim Benzema may have been an exception this year, but remember in the last 10, 12, 15 years... has there been a season at Real Madrid that has been characterised by the lack of a goal scorer?

Ronaldo Nazario left, and Van Nistelrooy arrived; the Dutchman left and Higuain appeared; he left the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and the goals of Benzema made the faithful quickly forget the Argentinian; this year, without the Frenchman or Ronaldo at their best level, Madrid have still finished the league with 94 goals, a not insignificant figure, and only Liverpool scored more goals in the Champions League.

Are 50 goals therefore really missing?

It's clear that the Portuguese star leaves a vacuum at sporting level, but if anything has characterised Los Blancos in recent years, it's for its ability to not remember those who are gone.

In 2013, many were fearful after the transfers of Ozil and Higuain, two stalwarts in the Madrid of Mourinho.

That same season, the longed for La Decima came along.

Just two years later, Casillas left the club of his life (with the departure of Di Maria in between, by the way) and the club went on to lift their 11th and 12th European titles.

James was the last one, with La Decimotercera coming 10 months later.

Despite the fact that Ronaldo's departure is a sensitive one, the team has shown to be above the individuals.

Finally, the media impact.

There will be a loss in terms of sponsors for the club, but let's not forget who is in charge at Real Madrid: Florentino Perez.

A week after having been elected in 2009, he had already brought Kaka and Ronaldo.

In this the employer is a teacher, and do not doubt that someone who fits that gap at the economic level will come.

For the moment there are two favourites: Neymar and Mbappe.
