Journalist Pranab Saha passes away

Journalist Pranab Saha, joint editor of Channel I, died today.

Pranab breathed his last around 6:15 am at the city’s Labaid Hospital, according to family members. He was 66.

Pranab Saha, also a member of Jatiya Press Club, left behind his wife, only son and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

He started his journalism career with Daily Banglar Bani. He also served different media houses at different capacities.

His body was kept on the JPC premises around 11 am where his colleagues had last glimpse at him. Saha will be cremated at his village home at Gorpara in Manikganj district this afternoon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condoled death of the senior journalist and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. She also conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, JPC President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and General Secretary Farida Yasmin expressed profound shock at the death of Saha.

They also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
