Police have arrested popular singer Asif Akbar in a case filed under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act in the wee hours of Wednesday.
A team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police arrested him at 1:30 am from his office near BFDC in the capital.
CID Additional Special Superintendent of Police Minhazul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News.
On June 1, Musician Safiq Tuhin filed a case against Asif for using his music property in business purpose without permission.
Akbar’s debut album was released on 30 January 2001. He releases solo, duet and mixed albums and also sings for Bangladeshi cinema.
