A court in Kushtia has sentenced a man to death and two others to life term imprisonment in a case filed in connection with the murder of a BCL leader in Sadar upazila in 2015.
Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Arup Kumar Goswami passed the order at 12 pm on Monday.
The convict is Tutul Hossain, 25, son of late Kashem Ali while the lifers are Ashraful Islam, 30, son of Abdul Hamid and Mosharaf Hossain, 30, son of Muntaz Pramanik, residents of Mollateghoria village.
The court also fined Tutul Tk 20,000 while the two others Tk 10,000 each.
According to the prosecution, the convicted youths called Shahrukh Khan Pias, a second year student of Accounting Department and former vice-president of defunct committee of BCL of Kushtia Government College, from his house and shot him dead over internal conflict.
Later, victim’s father AbulKalam Azad filed a case with Sadar Police Station.
