The government has decided to appoint a total of 12,000 assistant teachers for primary schools across the country.
Sources in Directorate of Primary Equation (DPE) said that the recruitment circular for the posts will be published in the upcoming June under Primary Education Development Project (PEDP-4).
Now, there are a total of 64, 820 government primary schools across the country. Of these, around 20,000 primary schools are facing Head Master crisis.
It is learnt that around 10,000 teachers will be recruited through the running recruitment tests under the third Primary Education Development Programme (PEDP-3) in December 2014 and again 12,000 teachers also will be appointed through a recruitment test in upcoming June under PEDP-4.
According to the source in DPE, the decision to appoint 12,000 teachers, was taken in a recent meeting of DPE presided by DPE director general Dr Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal.
Confirming the news, Additional DG of DPE Mr. Ramzan Ali told Jago News that various initiatives are being taken to uplift the standard of Primary education. As the part of those initiatives, we are going to meet the teachers’ crisis through the new recruitment under PEDP-4.
Besides, process for recruiting 10,000 teachers under the third Primary Education Development Programme (PEDP-3) also running right now, he added.
