Police in separate anti-drug drives have detained forty-one more people from different parts of the capital.
They conducted separate drives at Wahab colony of Basabo, Taltola market slum and Modhubagh area from 10 pm to 1:30 am on Thursday.
Five thousand pieces of Yaba, 11 kilograms of cannabis and 125 ‘puria’ of heroine.
According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police, around 350 police personnel of Motijheel zone led by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anwar Hossain conducted drives at Wahab colony and Taltola market.
Later in a press conference the Deputy Commissioner said 23 people were detained from Wahab colony and 10 from Taltola market slum. The detainees all are the drug traders.
However, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) led by Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted a drive at Madhubagh area and detained eight people during the buying and selling of the drugs.
