Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no three due to the depression over the Bay of Bengal.
In a bulletin issued on Tuesday, the met office advised all fishing boats and trawlers in North Bay and deep sea to come close to the coast and not to venture into deep sea.
Weather forecast says, a low has formed over East Central Bay and adjoining area. Westerly low lies over Bihar and adjoining area, extending its trough to North Bay.
It also adds: “Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty, squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh & Chittagong divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal & Sylhet divisions over the country.”
