PM returns home from Kolkata

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home on Saturday night concluding her two-day official visit to India at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, reports BSS.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight carrying the premier and her entourage members landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10.35 pm.

During the visit, the premier attended the Visva Bharati University Convocation at Shantiniketan as the guest of honour on Friday and received honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) Degree from Kazi Nazrul University at Asansol in West Bengal today.

Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the newly constructed Bangladesh Bhaban at Shantiniketan and hold a bilateral meeting there.

After inauguration of Bangladesh Bhaban, Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting and discussed the issues of bilateral interests.

She also visited "Jorasanko Thakur Bari", the residence of Poet Rabindranath Tagore yesterday. Kolkata Chamber leaders called on her at her hotel.

Sheikh Hasina visited the museum of Netaji Shubhas Chandra Bose, a great nationalist Indian political leader.
