The sale of advance bus tickets will be started from Wednesday next for the homebound passengers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Confirming the news, chairman of Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association Sohel Talukdar told Jago News that owners of buses for long-distance were requested to take all-out preparation to start selling advance tickets from Wednesday next.
Earlier on Thursday, Bangladesh Railway announced to begin sale of advance train tickets ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr from June 1.
Every year, tens of thousands of people leave the capital Dhaka to celebrate Eid with near and dear ones at their village homes. But their journey often turns bitter largely due to traffic jam, overcharging of tickets and delays in bus and train schedule.
