Five DU students get Prof Habiba Khatun Scholarship

Five meritorious students of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of Dhaka University (DU) were awarded "Prof. Dr. Habiba Khatun Scholarship" for their outstanding academic results in BA honors examinations today.

The recipients are: Md. Azim Uddin, Md. Redwanul Karim, Md. Abdullah Al Matin, Mst Tauhid-E-Jahan and Syed Md. Muntasir Muhaymin.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function held at the VC's lounge of the university.

Acting Chairman of the Department of Islamic History and Culture Prof Dr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairperson of the Department of Geography and Environment Prof. Dr. Hafiza Khatun, donor of the trust fund Prof. Dr. Habiba Khatun, Prof. Md. Mahfuzul Islam , Prof. Dr. AKM Golam Rabbani, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman, among others, were present on the occasion.

VC Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman in his speecj urged students to become worthy citizen.

"The meritorious students have to play en effective role to make Bangladesh a prosperous country," he said congratulating the awardees.

Dr. Habiba Khatun is a retired Professor of DU Islamic History and Culture Department.
