Police, in special drives arrested 18 persons including an activist of BNP from different areas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am on Friday morning.
Law enforcers also recovered 3,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested six persons including an activist of BNP from Kornai village around 7am under Sadar upazila, Birganj Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police arrested two persons, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested one person, Phulbari Thana police arrested one person, Parbatipur Thana police arrested two persons and Chirirbandar Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained two drug traders with 3,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets around 6am from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police, BGB said.
