Awami League mayoral candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque and BNP candidate Nazrul Islam Manju, two front runners in the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) election, cast their votes in the respective polling stations this morning, reports BSS.
Talukder Abdul Khaleque cast his vote at the city's Pioneer High school centre while Nazrul Islam Manju cast his vote at Rahima Khatun Government Primary School centre.
Talking to the media after casting votes, both the mayoral candidates expressed their confidence in winning the polls.
Earlier, balloting in the KCC election began at all the centers simultaneously at 8:00am amid a festive mood and tight security measures.
