3268 cases filed for traffic rule violations

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Wednesday filed 3268 cases on charges of traffic rule violation, reports BSS.

Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets also realised over Tk 23 lakh as fine, said an official release.

As many as 309 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 72 other cases for using hydraulic horn, five for using hotter and beckon light and 11 others for using tinted glass.

Some 56 cases, including 29 video cases, were lodged against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.

It also dumped 33 vehicles and wrecked 691 others.

Besides, 964 cases were lodged against motorcycles and 50 others were seized for the traffic rule violations.
